What is Sublimation?Plates & Plaques price list (Acrobat Reader Required) Adhesive Labels price list (Acrobat Reader Required) Specialty Items price list (Acrobat Reader Required)
Sublimation is when a substance transitions between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage; dry ice is an example. In a dye-sublimation printer the printing dye is heated up until it turns into a gas, at which point it diffuses onto the printing media and solidifies.
Sublimation is also a unique heat-transfer process that allows us to print in FULL COLOR on a variety of materials such as the samples below.
The result is a PERMANENT imprint that, unlike paint, actually becomes part of the surface of the product. It is very COST EFFECTIVE for short runs and custom, one-of-a-kind items.
